Celebrating St George’s Day Across Gravesend and Dartford

This week, pupils from our Trust schools proudly took part in the annual St George’s Day parades held in Gravesend and Dartford. Children from Shorne C of E Primary School, St Botolph’s C of E Primary School, Rosherville C of E Academy, and Saint George’s C of E School joined the vibrant celebrations in Gravesend, while pupils from Stone St Mary’s C of E Primary School represented the Trust with pride in Dartford.
The parades were organised by Cohesion Plus and Kent Equality Cohesion Council, in partnership with Same Sky, bringing together hundreds of children from schools across the two communities. The result was a spectacular celebration of England’s patron saint, filled with colour, creativity, and community spirit.
Pupils proudly carried handmade shields and banners, marched to the beat of lively music, and even caught a glimpse of a fire-breathing dragon! These events provided a joyful platform for self-expression, cultural pride, and unity, values at the heart of the celebration and our Trust.
In both towns, our pupils demonstrated fantastic enthusiasm and teamwork, helping to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere that engaged families, local residents, and passersby alike.
St George’s Day is always a highlight in the school year, and we are incredibly proud of all the children who participated. A special thank you goes to the dedicated staff and organisers who made it all possible.
