Aletheia Trust Pupils' Talents Shine during Annual Choir Concert

On Tuesday 28th March 2023, Aletheia Academies Trust held its annual Trust Choir Concert at The Woodville, Gravesend.

Since its inception in 2014, the Trust has showcased the immense talent of pupils year-on-year to highlight the exceptional music curriculum in each of its schools and academies. From what once was a small performance of three schools (Saint George’s C of E School, St Botolph's C of E Primary School and Shorne C of E Primary School), has now proudly developed into an outstanding evening performance consisting of eleven primary schools and one all-through school.

The day started at 13:30 with rehearsals taking place before unveiling the performance to an abundance of excited parents, friends, families, staff and governors at 18:00. It was an evening that showcased the dedication of the pupils and staff who took their time to practice and perfect their songs for the concert.

This year’s theme was songs that were weather-related with the phenomenal opening act of Set Fire to the Rain by Adele sung by all schools within the Trust, the schedule was then as follows:

  1. Sedley’s C of E Primary School - Singing in the Rain
  2. Halling Primary School - Colours of the Wind
  3. Horton Kirby C of E Primary School - Steal my Sunshine
  4. Shorne Primary C of E Primary School - Over the Rainbow
  5. Ditton C of E Junior School (supported by St Botolph’s C of E Primary School and Rosherville C of E Academy) - Pocketful of Sunshine
  6. Saint George’s C of E Primary Phase - Ain’t no Sunshine
  7. Cliffe Woods Primary School - Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head
  8. Sutton-at-Hone C of E Primary School - You are the Sunshine of my Life
  9. Stone St. Mary’s C of E Primary School - The Wind Beneath my Wings
  10. Holy Trinity C of E Primary School - Mr Blue Sky
  11. Rosherville C of E Academy - The Flood
  12. Saint George’s C of E Secondary Phase - Purple Rain

The last school to perform was St Botolph’s C of E Primary School who cleverly performed a weather medley of mixed songs including Walking on Sunshine and the Sun has got his Hat on, which saw many guests singing along!

The concert then concluded by all Trust schools, once again coming together, to collectively sing four songs from the film Frozen including Frozen Heart, Love is an Open Door, Do You Wanna Build a Snowman and Let it Go.

Everyone would agree that the children did incredibly well! A massive well done and thank you to all of our outstanding pupils and staff, who put in the dedication of practising and rehearsals before the big day!

Another well done and thank you to George; who was the perfect compère for the evening, with his quality entertainment and (debatable) comedic puns in between the individual acts.

Lastly, a huge special mention and thank you to Mrs Chitty for organising this spectacular event.
